STATUTES
CHAPTER I
GENERAL
Article 1. º(Constitution, nature and description)
It consists of a group that adopts the name "Confraria de Chaves", referred as a Brotherhood, private institution, non-profit organization, which is governed by these statutesa and the legislation.
Article. 2
(Duration, headquarters and representatives awarded)
1 - The Brotherhood will last indefinitely and is based on: Av Irmãos Rui Lopes Garcia, Loja 37 5400-310 in Chaves.
2 - The Brotherhood can move their headquarters to another place by decision of the General Chapter.
3 - The Brotherhood will have representatives granted on national territory and abroad, appointed by the Council of Elders, on the proposal of the Grand Master, with the designation of Grand commissioner.
Article 3.
(Purpose)
1 - The Fraternity aims the protection and dissemination of traditional products and, in general, usesand traditions of the Chaves region, including the fine foods and all the knowledge and traditions associated.
2 - In pursuit of its goals, the Brotherhood will act with complete independence free political and religious, and their management be guided by fairness, reasonableness and proper implementation and use of resources and assets owned or available to them.
3 - The Brotherhood represents its members in defending their interests within the framework defined in the preceding paragraphs, before public officials and other related associations, national and foreign.
4 - The Brotherhood consists of the grantors of the deed of incorporation and by other members as may be accepted under these statutes.
Article 4. º
(Activities)
1 - To achieve the purposes set out in the previous article, the Brotherhood established itself as a strong and decisive way in defense of traditional products and practices, traditions of Chaves region, including the following activities:
a) protection and preservation of the authenticity and genuineness of traditional products and, in general, uses, cstoms and traditions of the region of Chaves;
b) Promote research on the manufacture, consumption and the importance of traditional gastronomic products of the Chaves region, in its many aspects, including: recipes, traditional art and technique, products used in their production, evolution, home cooks and manufacturing famous relationship of folk art, research and other aspects on which to make a historical reconstruction of gastronomic products of ancestral origin and its evolution over time;
c) Dissemination and promotion of traditional products and, in general, uses, customs and traditions of the Chaves region at regional, national and international levels, through the forms for this purpose as most appropriate;
d) Preparation of the route of traditional products uses and traditions of the region of Chaves;
e) Promotion and implementation of events - related to traditional products and, in general, with practices, customs and traditions of the Chaves region - and in particular, fairs and festivals, as well as simple degustation meetings.
2 - Furthermore, in order to achieve its ends, the Brotherhood can:
a) Edit books, brochures, texts, monographs, posters and other material information and dissemination;
b) To promote the publication of research papers and dissemination in the local, regional, national and international, and possibly reward the best works;
c) To organize competitions on traditional products uses,and traditions of the region of Chaves;
d) support, together with the relevant authorities, dissemination of traditional products and, in general, uses, customs and traditions of the region of Chaves in schools of various levels of education in the region;
e) Promote training activities with the support of public and private institutions;
f) To collaborate with relevant local, regional and national tourism officials, in all measures for disseminating and promoting traditional products and, in general, uses and traditions of the region of Chaves;
g) promote the collection of materials related to the region's traditional products of Chaves, aiming to create a museum;
h) Organize and train services or accredited technical support, with ability to study, assistance and advancement of the issues and areas in which the Brotherhood must have intervention.
i) publish original research on matters that are its purpose, and reissue those who have become rare, promoting the means at its disposal, the publication of manuscripts of recognized historic value.
f) Awarded the title Honorary own people or entities prominent gastronomic scene, Cultural and Civic.
Article 5. º
(Symbology)
1 - The Fraternity adopted symbols and distinctive signs of their own that reflect the key elements and key identifiers, the Region, and its products and traditions, including those related to food, and can be assigned and affixed as a recommendation, the entry of hotels and restaurants, whose letter is an integral part of traditional gastronomic products of the region they are produced or prepared with total authenticity.
2 - In the direction of the Brotherhood is reserved the right to withdraw the right to display of these marks, provided it is satisfied that the authority fail to act on the merits of the assignment.
3 - The symbols of the Brotherhood are the following:
a) The Badge;
b) The Coat of Arms;
c) The Costume;
d) The Rod.
e) Vestments;
f) The Ritual;
g) The Hymn;
4 - The Brotherhood set by internal regulations, the terms, use and use of its symbols.
Article 6. º(Honorific)
Sovereign Order of Aquae Flaviae
1 - Confraria de Chaves recognizing ancient and noble traditions, creating and establishing the honorary Sovereign Order of Aquae Flaviae, whose assignment will ensure the prestige and recognition of Confraria de Chaves the relevant services provided by different recipients.
2 - The medals are for public recognition to institutions and citizens, who in his lifetime or posthumously, have been distinguished by the services to the country, in various fields of activity, Culture and Cuisine of the Region of Chaves in particular.
3 - The decorations of the Sovereign Order of Aquae Flaviae, in accordance with international custom, also distinguished foreign figures.
4 - The Sovereign Order of Aquae Flaviae has several degrees, which are, in descending order:
· Grand Cross
· Grand Officer
· Commander
· Knight or Dame
5 -- The Brotherhood will set rules on the features and terms of allocation of the Sovereign Order Aquae Flaviae.
CHAPTER II
ASSOCIATES
Article 6. º
(Quality and classification of members)
1 - Confraria de Chaves have six categories of members, hereinafter referred to as Colleagues:
a) Confrade Founder;
b) Confrade Brother;
c) Novice Confrade;
d) Confrade of Merit;
e) Confrade Protector.
f) Brother of Honor and Devotion;
2 - The admission of novices Brethren is the responsibility of the Council of Elders (Advisory Council) who will decide, by majority, the proposed admission made by two brothers and Colleagues Founders, the Directory of Distinguished (direction).
3 - The Directory of Distinguished propose, on the ground, to the General (General Assembly) to be admitted as members in its own right, with the title of Brethren Brothers Novice to one year to demonstrate their dedication to the Brotherhood, their interest so traditional products and, in general, the uses, customs and traditions of the Chaves region is concerned, in compliance with these statutes.
4 - The Founding Brethren members who subscribe to the minutes of the foundation and persons invited by the AET to initially join the Brotherhood, and who gave their express consent.
5 - San Colleagues Honor and Devotion of the natural or legal persons who have made a significant contribution to achieving the objectives of the Brotherhood, and accept this distinction.
6 - The General Chapter of the admission of the Brethren of Honor and Devotion, reasoned proposal of the Executive Board of the Notables.
7 - Colleagues of Merit are the natural or legal persons, public or private, which have been shown as part of scientific, cultural, economic, or other expenses related to traditional products and, more generally, to the customs and traditions of the region of Chaves, and submitted to be distinguished by the Brotherhood, and to accept that same distinction.
8 - The award of this degree of merit is the responsibility of the Executive Board of Notables, and the appointment made by the Grand Master.
9 - To the Brethren of Honor and Devotion of Merit is barred from playing a role in governing bodies, as well as participation with voting rights in general chapters and are also exempt from payment of subscription and share.
10 - Protectors are the persons who intend to collaborate in carrying out the aims and tasks of the Brotherhood, by providing financial inducements equal to or greater than reported in section fourteen.
11 - The award of this degree of protector is the responsibility of the Executive Board of Notables, subject to ratification at the general chapter.
12 - Protector Each member is represented by up to two people who have access free of charge, to the acts and ceremonies that the Brotherhood be undertaken, unless otherwise expressly provided, and except for the participation in voting in the General Chapter , with them also prohibited the performance of the boards.
13 - The list of names of entities that is awarded this category is adequately disclosed in acts, ceremonies or publications that the Brotherhood happen.
14 - The Friars Protectors undertake the payment of an annual twenty-five times higher than the share of the Brethren Brothers, yet exempt from payment of jewelry.
15 - The installation of the Brethren Protectors is made in a public ceremony, preceded obliged to Chapter.
16 - The installation of the Brethren, in the various categories, will take place in a public ceremony and proper entitlement to the use of appropriate clothing and insignia. Since the persons entrusted by those who legitimately represent them.
Article 7. º
(Duties of the Brethren)
1 - The duties of the Brethren:
a) -- Honoring the quality of their brethren and steadfastly defend the prestige and dignity of the Brotherhood, within the rules of civic education and acting in order to achieve its statutory objectives;
b) -- Comply with and enforce the legal provisions applicable to the Brotherhood, and the statutes, internal regulations and decisions of its organs, even when, for them to disagree, to exercise the right of appeal to the competent organs;
c) -- Perform with zeal and diligence the duties for which they were elected or appointed, unless special reason to be relieved known deterrent;
d) -- Meet jewelry, shares and other contributions, set by the General Chapter, even with extraordinary special purpose;
e) -- Attend the Chapter and to other meetings that are convened and collaborate in the activities promoted by the Brotherhood, especially where this has been requested, as well as all actions necessary to achieve its purposes;
f) -- Representing the Brotherhood, when it commissioned, acting in accordance with the guidelines set by the competent bodies;
g) -- Using the symbols of the Brotherhood when recommended or requested by the boards;
h) -- Maintain good moral behavior and discipline within the premises of the Brotherhood and for the activities developed by this, identifying when requested.
